Hunt for the Shadow Wolf

Hunt for the Shadow Wolf was published by Chelsea Green in March 2024 and we were contracted to execute a full and ambitious campaign for the book. Derek Gow is a well-known naturalist and author of the previous book on species reintroduction Bringing Back the Beaver. 

Our approach was to present Derek Gow as a unique and revolutionary voice in the conservation and species reintroduction space, both to specialist press as well as in the mainstream. We wanted to create a buzz about Derek’s message – that reintroducing wolves to Britain would be beneficial to our climate. We and the publisher secured first interview with Patrick Barkham in The Observer Magazine, which was then followed by reviews in Telegraph, The Spectator, New Statesman, New Scientist, and Country Life. The weekend after publication of the book Derek appeared on BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live which immediately resulted in the book climbing the Amazon rankings. The Times and The Telegraph ran news pieces about Derek’s message, and BBC Wildlife Magazine ran a piece written by Derek. Further coverage was secured in The Scotsman, Psychology Today, The Herald, Resurgence and Ox in a Box.
